The German car company BMW is pulling out of the UK market with 312,000 vehicles, BMW Series 1, Series 3, Z4 and its X1, diesel and gasoline models manufactured from March 2007 to August 2011 .
The German car manufacturer first announced the withdrawal of its vehicles from the UK market as Narayan Gurung, traveling with his wife on Christmas Day 2016, lost his life when their "Ford Fiesta" collided with a tree to avoid a defective BMW, in Guildford, Surrey.
The BMW had suffered an electric defect, which had caused its lights to fail, causing the vehicle to remain in the dark on a main road.
An investigation by the authorities concluded that the defect could be repeated in a larger number of vehicles.
